Rose is a graduate of the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music where she majored in Vocal Performance. Rose teaches and enjoys working with all styles of music, from opera to pop, from jazz to musicals and anything else we care to delve into! Rose is a member of the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Australian National Choral Association. She has also worked with many students on their HSC music performances, as well as coached students through many other performance opportunities, including Eisteddfods and Studio Concerts. She is familiar with the AMEB vocal syllabus (both classical and contemporary) and has successfully put many students through these exams. Lessons work on developing a solid technique appropriate to the style, a sensitive musical interpretation and a powerful performance presence and delivery. Rose believes singing lessons should be fun, productive and impart an enthusiasm and passion for singing and music in general. Rose also conducts the high school aged vocal ensemble 'Phoenix' based in Port Macquarie. She has also sung with the Melbourne Chamber Choir and the Melbourne Women’s Choir and currently sings with, and occasionally conducts, the Hastings Choristers. She has toured with Opera Hunter’s The Marriage of Figaro to the Queensland outback for the Queensland Music Festival, with the Newcastle Conservatorium Chamber Choir to South Korea and with the German choir Northern Spirit to two Choral Festivals in Spain. Rose has performed with many theatre companies in Newcastle, including roles such as Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Opera Hunter 2006) and Petra in A Little Night Music (Newcastle Gilbert and Sullivan Players 2009). Rose has taught singing throughout the Hunter Valley and Melbourne and is now glad to call Camden Haven her new home. (more).
