2MCFM was opened on September 20, 1937 and is based in Port Macquarie.
In 2005 the station also began broadcasting on a third FM frequency to cater for our audience in the Camden Haven, south of Port. We have a specific southern frequency which covers the area from Port Macquarie to Taree and another frequency covers our northern region the area from Kempsey to Coffs Harbour. It's target audience is the 40 to 60 year old age group.
2MCFM is an extremely community conscious station with a very distinctive local flavour. On Australia Day in the year 2000 2MC switched from 531 on the AM dial to 100.7 and 106.7 2MCFM.
It was originally known as 2KM and based in Kempsey until 1980 and then with the move to Port came the name change to 2MC (Mid Coast). The heart of the NSW Mid-North Coast region, it broadcasts to between Coffs Harbour and Taree. (more).
